YOGA

At Thrive, we offer a yoga practice that is suitable for everyone. The beginner will find a warm, welcoming environment where they can explore their practice without feeling pressured. The experienced yogi will find a solid practice with the opportunity and guidance necessary to move into more advanced poses at their own pace.

The classes are not heated at Thrive. We begin the practice with flowing vinyasas (movements that flow with the breath) in order to naturally warm the body from the inside. Then we slow the practice down, holding a pose for several breaths before moving on to the next one. There is a balance of strengthening and stretching poses. Finally, we end the practice with meditation and relaxation.

During the class, modifications will be offered for each vinyasa sequence and each pose. The student is encouraged to listen to their own body and choose the variation that feels best. We come together as a group to practice, but not to be synchronized. Each body, each spirit and each day is different – no two practices will look alike. Within each pose the student is welcome to challenge themselves or to rest, without judgement.​
