Massage Therapy

Melissa DeRochemont

Massage is generally considered part of complementary and alternative medicine. No longer seen as purely a luxury service, massage is increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.

The overall benefits of massage are many and can be an effective treatment for reducing stress, relieving pain and releasing muscle tension.
Studies have found massage may also be helpful for:

  • Anxiety
  • Digestive disorders
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia related to stress
  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Soft tissue strains or injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Temporomandibular joint pain

Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, you can enjoy massage because it often produces feelings of caring, comfort, and connection. As part of an overall wellness plan, massage can be the perfect compliment to exercise and stress management regimens.

At Thrive, our treatment room is private, warm and cozy. Massage sessions can be booked for 60, 90 and 120 minutes.
